Designer Bathrooms
There is no reason why you can’t have a stylish, designer bathroom in your house. Regardless of whether you live in a small three bedroom semi or a large detached manor house, there are styles suited to all budgets and requirements.
The range of designer bathrooms available has expanded vastly over the past few years with an increase in demand for impressive house designs. Nowadays we all seem to want the best possible design features for our homes, and this includes our bathrooms. So, if you are considering investing in a brand-new designer bathroom then there are three main areas which you need to consider in order to ensure stylistic success.
Basins
A wash basin doesn’t have to be a purely functional item and should not be overlooked when it comes to designing your prefect bathroom. Make sure that you select a size that is appropriate for the size of the room and for its use. Having a basin not large enough to wash your hands in is not going to gain any style points, so don’t be tempted to go too far with the ‘minimalist look’.
Basins are available in a range of different designs and shapes, from the traditional rounded models to squarer versions. They can be integrated into cabinet units in order to add a more modern feel to the room as well as providing extra storage space.
When selecting your basin you should also pay close attention to the types of taps. Remember that you can always change the bathroom taps to something more to your style, so give some consideration to whether you want a traditional crosshead handle or a more modern lever handle before purchase.
Baths
Baths are the most luxurious item of any bathroom, so make sure that you have one that is perfect for you. If you are restricted on space then a traditional rectangular bath is the best option. Remember that these are often available in a large range of styles and you can often change the front bath panel to something more decorative.
For those with a larger space a corner bath is a great way to keep the room feeling big whilst providing an interesting addition. Another alternative is the freestanding bath. This is most popular for people with very large bathrooms and a more traditional taste, although there are now a number of more modern interpretations of this bathing classic.
Showers
Lastly, when planning your designer bathroom it is important to give a lot of consideration to the many types of showers available. The first thing to decide is what type of shower you want. Remember to consider more unique ideas, such as wet rooms, along with more traditional ones such as the shower enclosure.
Remember to think about the style features of your shower by looking at the range of shower screens and other items available. These can transform the entire appearance of your shower, giving it a more ‘designer’ feel.
