Boss pedals keep it real

The creation of sound and melody continually evolves, and the phenomenon that is music retains it's age old power to speak the language of the human soul. The trained ear of a music professional will hear the hair splitting changes in the tone and resonance of any given instrument, as the sound is amplified and manipulated to create the desired result. In an age where digital is king, advances in instrument effects are ground breaking. On the same note there is a danger of losing some of the authenticity of the purity of sound in the natural instrument. One of the great features of Boss pedals is that the effects have more of an analogue effect as opposed to a completely super-tech digital effect. This is an incredibly important feature if it's a more authentic sound you are going for.

The vital difference with modern digital effects modules is that the sound from the instrument enters the module at one end, is digitally reproduced and is then sent to an amplifier or speaker. This can be great if that is the desired effect and your genre requires a more digital representation of the sound but, if not, it will certainly cause some tonal issues. In this instance you'll find yourself constantly fighting your equipment in frustrated attempts to get that authentic and natural sound you so passionately crave. Based on these facts, it is understandable that because the sound is being completely reproduced in a digital module, there is a noticeable difference when changing between two sounds. You will experience what sounds like sudden jumps, clicks or pops when changing from one setting to the next.

In the case of a Boss pedal, the sound is received on one end and rather than being totally reproduced, it simply gets enhanced. The natural tone gets added to and built upon and the original signal remains completely intact before being released out the other end. The obvious difference with boss pedals is that the transitions are smooth and natural with no clicking and popping, and even when running the sound through a series of effects pedals you can still hear the underlying authentic tones of the instrument.

With a wide range of Boss effects pedals available, you’ll find that there are amazing things you can achieve with your sound while still maintaining it's authenticity. The Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble offers a variety of great chorus sounds, from mellow and spacey to as big as you want to go. The newly developed dual-stage overdrive circuit offers the best sustain and compression in history, and it’s rich and warm tones set it apart from the harsh distortions of other pedals that came before it. Add on the rich and dynamic Boss OD-3 Overdrive and you'll achieve that raw grit and bite you've heard on all those classic rock albums.

Sounds Great Music offers a full range of Boss effects pedals as well as a wide variety of other effects gadgets including midi controllers, racks, pedal boards, stomp boxes and pedal accessories just to name a few.
