Meet The Tipping Point

Advertising in the student market can be quite challenging. If it was easy there would be lots of studentbeans.com’s. In order to increase our visibility within the market so that students hear about us we use all sorts of mediums.

We’re not currently using TV campaigns yet but if we did it would have to be something like the latest Guinness advert.

Called Tipping Point, the 90 second ad was shot in the Argentianian village and shows dominoes toppling suitcases, oil drums, fridges, cars and flaming hay bales.

Some interesting facts about the Tipping Point

  • At £10 million it’s the most expensive TV advert in the 80 year history of Guinness.
  • It was directed by Nicolai Fugslig - you might know him better as the dude who bought us the Sony Bravia’s Balls advert
  • Setting up the dominos on the table took 3 expert over 2 days but only took 14 seconds to fall.
  • The domino items included 10,000 books, 400 tyres, 75 mirrors, 50 fridges, 45 wardrobes, 6 cars and 6,000 dominoes.
